Heritage Day

kennedy-at-readingTrinity takes part in Easton’s annual Heritage Day festivities.

Heritage Day celebrates the reading of the Declaration of Independence on July8, 1776 on the steps of the old Court House. Here, the Easton flag was first unfurled and Easton’s Liberty Bell made by the Moravians at Bethlehem added its bronze note of rejoicing from the cupola of the historical Court House.

Heritage Day is celebrated on the Sunday after Independence Day.  This year’s Heritage Day event will be held on July 11th, 2010.

Our activities include taking part in the ecumenical worship service on Sunday morning in one of the Downtown Churches, the reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon, and in the festival with our concession stand. We also open the church for tours and hold Sitgreaves Coffee House in the parish hall before the fireworks display takes place at 9:30 p.m.

This year we plan to have an afternoon of singing patriotic songs in the church. Contact Dale Grandfield, Director of Music Ministry, for more information at 610-253-0792 ext. 203

For information, contact Bruce Meneeley (concession stand), Barbie Haigh (tours) and Rob Fedorczyk (Sitgreaves Coffee House) via the parish office at (610)253-0792 ext. 201.
