Education for Communion
In the Episcopal Church all Baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion and that includes even very young children. It is important, especially for early elementary aged kids, that they learn what the Holy Eucharist means and how they can participate. Some parents choose to hold back and only have their children receive after they’ve received this instruction, making this a “First Communion” class for them. Other parents like to have their children receive from the time they are baptized and use this class as a chance for them learn what it’s all about, which is why we call it “Early Communion Class.”
No matter which path your family chooses, “Education for Communion” classes are run the same way.
“Education for Communion” is led by Deborah Todak who has taught this course for several years. We will follow the course “This Bread and This Cup” by The Rev. Mary Lee Wiley.
“Education for Communion” is for children aged 7 or older. Call the parish office at 610-253-0792 and speak to our administrator, Sr. Patricia-Michael at ext. 201. You can also e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
