Web Browser Compatibility
The designers of this website have done their best to make the website display properly in most web browsers. However, each browser is different and some web browsers display some websites a little differently than other browsers.
For the best experience when using www.trinityeaston.org, we recommend using Mozilla Firefox. Internet Explorer 7 also works well although some things may display a little differently than what’s shown in Firefox. Google Chrome and Apple Safari work fine too.
Sorry Opera users, the navigation menus just won’t display properly in Opera. Pages and links will work, but the menus won’t. If you really prefer to use Opera for browsing the site, you’ll need to visit the handy Sitemap.
RSS Feeds
An explanation of RSS feeds is beyond the purpose of this site, however, there is a very good resource to learn about RSS available here.
There are two RSS feeds available on trinityeaston.org. The first is a feed containing recent posts on Trinity’s blog. The other feed contains recent comments made by readers of Trinity’s blog. You can use your favorite RSS reader or web browser aggregators such as Firefox’s Live Bookmarks to ’subscribe’ to these feeds.
Usually, your browser or reader will auto-detect Trinity’s RSS feeds, but if you’d like to manually add the feeds the links to both feeds are found on the top left side of every page on this site.
E-Newsletter
Trinity Church offers a various e-newsletters for it’s members that are also available to the public. An e-newsletter is similar to a newsletter you’d get through the U.S. Postal Service, except that an e-newsletter is delivered via e-mail.
Trinity’s E-Citadel is an e-mail version of the church’s weekly newsletter. There are also similar e-newsletters for a variety of Trinity’s groups available to anyone who is interested. It’s very easy to sign up for any of Trinity’s e-newsletters, just follow the instructions below.
On the front page of this site there is a subscription form for the e-newsletter. All you have to do to subscribe is enter your first and last name and your e-mail address in the appropriate boxes. Once you’ve entered your information, click the Sign Up button. You’ll be taken to a confirmation page that will walk you through selecting the group(s) from which you would like to receive an e-newsletter.
Once you’ve selected the appropriate groups, click the ‘Get Connected!’ button. A confirmation e-mail containing a link will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. You must click the link in that e-mail to verify that you did sign up for the e-newsletter. While we really like reaching people through e-mail, the website and other online tools as much as we like reaching people in other ways, you are never required to sign up for any of the e-newsletters to be a part of Trinity.
Navigating the Website
Every section of this site can be found by moving your mouse over one of the red tabs that are found at the top of every page. You can also click on the red tabs to see the section for that particular tab. Each tab can be thought of as a main section that contains other sections. For example, there is an About section that has information about Trinity Church. The About menu contains first a link to the About section, followed by links that are sub-sections of the About section, such as Directions.
If for some reason the navigation menus aren’t properly displaying, you can use the link at the top called Sitemap to view a list of links to every section on the site.
Mobile Browsers
This website is compatible with a wide variety of mobile web browsers including the browser found on most Blackberry phones as well as Internet Explorer Mobile and the iPhone. The site will automatically detect whether you’re using a phone or a computer and appropriately adjust how the site is displayed. However, there are a lot of web-capable phones out there and all of them use different browsers. This website should work with most phone browsers but we still can not guarantee it will work on your phone.
