Confirmation
Confirmation is a mature public affirmation of one’s faith and commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism. In confirmation the candidate receives the laying on of hands by the bishop.
It is also sometimes called reception (for those who have been confirmed in another tradition) or reaffirmation of baptismal vows (for those returning to church after a long absence or who wish to deepen their spiritual life).
We have classes for young people (aged 13 through high school graduation) and for adults, and plan these around the annual visitation by the Bishop.
Preparation for adults and teenagers who wish to be baptized often occur concurrently with those seeking confirmation.
