Pastoral Visitors
Every Sunday, at least one lay person is sent out from one of the Sunday Eucharists to bring the Sacrament to the home bound and shut-in.
A team of lay people are trained in pastoral visiting and are licensed by the Bishop of Bethlehem to be sure that those who cannot join us by reason of illness or being homebound are still a part of our worshipping community.
Lay Visitors are both assigned a particular person to visit regularly and also is “on-call” to go to hospital or nursing home as needed. In this way, the Lay Pastoral Visitors supplement and extend the normal pastoral minsitry of the priest.
The group meets quarterly for prayer, supervision and to make assignments for the next quarter. They share concerns and updates so that these special minsiters are aware of the situations of our homebound and shut-in.
